DORODESIGN Likes: Ozwald Boateng Autumn/Winter 2012

In terms of both the clothing and the way in which it is presented, this slight detour feels like a progression for a designer already at the top of his game. A meeting of East and West, Boateng describes Autumn/Winter 2012;

“The traditionally ‘black and white’ Japanese attitude towards clothing etiquette fascinates me. In modern society, migration between East and West has caused these elements to merge. Autumn/Winter 2012 combines facets of typical British Hunting Attire and a Japanese aesthetic story to create something new, something directional.”

Rich, deep scarlets and greens play off plenty of black. Salt and pepper wool in suits and dramatic overcoats, mohair and Japanese fabrics. Of course, luxury is a big part of what Boateng does, however, this collection has a feel of something unexpected and it just works. (via Selectism).
